St. Anne man dies in crash in northern Iroquois County

BEAVERVILLE — A St. Anne man died in a one-vehicle crash Thursday, Nov. 7, in rural Beaverville in northern Iroquois County.

The Iroquois County Sheriff’s Office said Robert Hubert, 68, was pronounced dead while being flown from the scene to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn by a Lifestar helicopter from Joliet.

Sheriff’s deputies were called around 1:38 p.m. to the accident on County Road 3200 North near County Road 3130 East, where an investigation indicated that a 1995 Chevrolet Blazer driven by Mr. Hubert left the roadway to the north for unknown reasons while eastbound on County Road 3200 North, the sheriff’s office said.

After leaving the roadway, Mr. Hubert’s vehicle struck a tree stump, causing the vehicle to roll and come to a rest on its passenger side, the sheriff’s office said.

Mr. Hubert was extricated from the vehicle by St. Anne and Beaverville firefighters and Riverside EMS paramedics, said the sheriff’s office.

The accident remained under investigation Friday.
