GCMS 7th-grade girls basketball off to 3-1 start


GIBSON CITY – After a 28-10 loss to Clifton Nash on Sept. 24, the Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley seventh-grade girls basketball team has won three straight games.

The Falcons won 20-18 over Fisher on Monday, Sept. 30, before winning 23-16 in overtime over Ridgeview on Tuesday and 27-12 over Watseka Glenn Raymond on Thursday.

“We are a very young team with a ton of heart,” GCMS seventh-grade coach Deanna Leitz said “We play hard and the girls are improving every day. This is a fun group to watch.”
