GIBSON CITY – The Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley varsity baseball team lost 8-4 to Warrensburg-Latham on Tuesday.
Trent Wetherell homered and doubled while driving in one run and scoring two. David Hull, Brayden Elliott and Conner Kinzinger each had one RBI.
On the mound, Graydon Leonard allowed no runs on one hit and two walks with nine strikeouts through 4 2/3 innings.
David Hull allowed five unearned runs on one hit and three walks with one strikeout through one innings and Mitchell Heinz allowed three runs – one earned – on two hits and three walks through 1 1/3 innings.
In a 14-4 loss to Champaign Central, Trent Wetherell tripled and drove in two runs while Graydon Leonard hit 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI. Jason Christensen doubled and Elliott drove in a run while David Hull scored two runs.
